APRIL PAD CHALLENGE DAY SEVEN

April Pad Day 7, 2015

Today's prompt is Love

LOVE OF NATURE

                 I
A summer breeze
stirred the leaves
of a tree old and bent
they softly whispered
blow gently, dear friend
for he is battered
gnarled and spent
and can no longer bend

                   II
In my garden the roses grow sweet
their soft petals unfolding
like new butterfly wings
morning dew like precious pearls
kiss each petal as they unfurl
Even the lilacs cannot compete

                   III
The  butterfly
said to the flower
i love your nectar
you are such a lovely thing
the flower nodded it's head
not half as pretty as your
beautiful velvet wing
the butterfly cried
I started as a worm
the flower piped up
I started as a germ
