April PAD Day 9, 2015
Today's prompt is Work
WASH DAY
Wednesday is wash day
an old iron pot
to heat the water
cradled over an open fire
shirts, pants and socks
spin and swirl
in the old wringer washer
that bit many a finger
sometimes a whole hand
then hung out to dry
in the hot morning sun
sheets, dresses and dainties
draped over the line
dancing in wild abandon
to the winds merry melody
